Two Pakistani Children Participate In 30th Anniversary Of UNCRC
Two Pakistani students are representing the country in the CRC30 conference currently underway in the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland. It is one of the major global events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) all around the world.

The students, Sameer Haider and Nawal Haider, are 14-year-old and are currently studying at the Trust School and TNS Beaconhouse in Lahore.

They are partaking in the 3-day CRC30 conference which reviews the activities carried out during 2019 pertaining to the 30th anniversary of the convention.

The conference also aims to discuss the last 30 years of the CRC and new commitments to be made for children’s rights.

Hundreds participated in the conference including children, children’s rights organisations, United Nations staff, government representatives, members of the embassies in Geneva and the Committee on the Rights of the Child, along with students and professors.

The Pakistani mission in Geneva invited the country’s delegates for a meeting with Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva Tahir Hussain Andrabi.
