Former Punjab Home Minister Shuja Khanzada’s portrait, which had been put up in Punjab Assembly to honour his sacrifices in the War on Terror, has been removed from the premises.
Shuja Khanzada served as the home minister of Punjab from 2014 till his death in a suicide attack on his political office in Attock in 2015.
The attack was reported by law enforcement agencies to be in retaliation for the killing of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi founder Malik Ishaq, who was killed in a clash with police in July 2015.
Khanzada’s portrait had been hung in the Punjab Assembly to honour his acts of bravery in the war on terror.
Reportedly, the former minister’s portrait has been removed from the Punjab Assembly. Former parliamentarian and intelligence officer Masood Sharif Khattak took to Twitter to ask why Khanzada’s portrait had been removed from the assembly building, adding that it was put there to honour him and must be put back.
