Pakistan's Fastest Female Athlete To Represent Country In South Asian Games 2019
A young woman athlete from Faisalabad will be representing Pakistan in the South Asian Games 2019 to be held in Nepal from December 1 to 10.

The athlete, Sahib-e-Asra, is Pakistan’s fastest female athlete of Pakistan. According to the Woman Media Center Pakistan, Asra is a daughter of an imam. Her father, despite societal opposition, supported his daughter in her endeavours.

In November 2018, Sahib-e-Asra won the gold medal in 100m running at the National Athletics Championship.

Journalist Musadaq Zulqarnain stated on Twitter that Sahib-e-Asra would be representing in the South Asia Games 2019.

According to a report in Daily Pakistan, Asra started her career as a runner in school and took part in division and district level competitions. She also proved her mettle in provincial tournaments.

Asra’s father received opposition about his daughter’s choices from his associates and acquaintances, but he paid no heed to their comments and let his daughter continue pursuing her dreams.
