Minister Zartaj Says Army Is Govt's Spokesperson
Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul Wazir has said the ruling government is proud that the military was its spokesperson.

The minister made these comments during a talk show of a private television channel. In response to a question about the sit-in of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam in Islamabad, the minister pointed out that while the Maulana was claiming that he wanted the prime minister’s resignation, his own son was in the parliament and not a part of JUI-F’s protest.

In response to one of Zartaj’s comments, one of the invitees of the show pointed out that the reason why JUI-F was not in the assembly was because of electoral rigging.

Zartaj Gul in her reply stated that the opposition parties had failed to understand what had happened to them in the vote of no-confidence motion against Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, whereby the chairman had survived the vote with lesser number of votes than what the resolution had received when it was first tabled.

She then proceeded to say that they (the government) were proud to be the spokespersons of the judiciary and were proud of the fact that the military was the spokesperson of the government.

The minister added that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had created controversy with his comments about institutions and the military had been forced to comment on the issue.
