Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani has left for Cambodia to attend an international summit despite his name being on the Exit Control List.

Family sources confirmed to media that Yousaf Raza Gillani on Monday left to attend the Asia Pacific Cambodia Conference 2019.

Gillani was exclusively invited by Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen to deliver a lecture at the summit.

Gillani’s name had earlier been put on the Exit Control List due to a corruption case against him pertaining to the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, whereby it had been alleged that the former PM had approved and disbursed fraudulent trade subsidies worth billions of rupees.

Gillani has reportedly left for Cambodia with permission from the interior ministry. The ministry has stated that the former PM was allowed to travel abroad for a period of 15 days.
