Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Tourism Minister Atif Khan has said that the royal couple’s visit to Chitral would help to promote tourism in the area.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on their third day of visit to Pakistan, reached the mountainous Chitral district in the far north-west of the country.

On the occasion, KP Tourism Minister Atif Khan said that the visit was an honour for the people of the province.

He stated that the recent visit of Prince William and Princess Kate would further accelerate efforts to discover the history of Chitral and make it a tourist spot according to international standards once again.

The minister said, “Chitral is the most peaceful and highly literate district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” adding that the royal couple witnessed the rich tradition and culture of Kalash Valley, glaciers in the district including Broghil, and other beautiful tourist spots.

He added, “It’s time to show the world the beauty of Pakistan. The world needs to witness the tremendous landscape of Chitral.”

Broghil is a famous tourist destination in Chitral, and the view of the place is mesmerising and experimental.

Atif Khan also said that the recent visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would boost both domestic and foreign tourism in Chitral, which he said would result in the creation of jobs and would uplift the local economy.
