A Rawalpindi-based woman has become the fifth of her family to have passed the Central Superior Service (CSS) written exam.
The student, Zoha Malik Sher, has four sisters who have passed the exam before her and are currently holding important positions in the bureaucracy.
In a male dominated society like Pakistan, achievements of women are a source of pride not just for families, but for those who desire and strive for women empowerment.
Zoha is the daughter of a retired WAPDA employee. While talking to media she said that her father showed that having daughters was not a weakness but a strength, adding that she felt blessed.
She said that because she had no brothers, people showed sympathy to her family. She added that her father never felt bad but provided them with the best training and education.
She further added, “There should be no discrimination on the basis of gender, colour, caste and creed. These things should not be considered the basis of strength and weakness.”
Zoha was of the view that girls can do wonders if they have the confidence of their parents. She intends to join the Pakistan Administrative Services.
The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) announced the results of its CSS exam on Thursday. According to the FPSC, only 372 people passed the exam out of the 14,521 who appeared for it.
