Pakistani Film ‘Mariam’ Wins First Prize At BIFF
Hamza Bangash won the first prize at the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) with his debut film Mariam, while Sarmad Khoosat also won an award for his most awaited film Zindagi Tamasha.

Bangash shared the big news on his Instagram with the caption: “I still can’t believe this happened. My feature film debut project, Mariam, has picked up the First Prize, MPA-AFA award at BIFF.”

The director said that he is grateful to the Asian Film Academy, Motion Picture Association and  the BIFF for his achievement.

Earlier, he had also posted about how excited he was to be a part of this year’s Asian Film Academy with the Busan Festival. “The first time I applied for this was in 2017, and 2 years later it finally happened. Can’t wait for two weeks of learning, hanging and experiencing Korea for the first time,” he concluded. The filmmaker is now set to take his film to Los Angeles.
