No Talks With Govt Until PM Resigns, Says Fazlur Rehman
ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman has ruled out any possibility of talks with the government.

While addressing media persons, the JUI-F chief said that he would only hold negotiations with the government once the prime minister had resigned.

Fazl’s statement came shortly after Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureishi said that the government has formed a committee to hold talks with the JUI-F. He also said that Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak would lead the committee.

While speaking to reporters in Rato Dero, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said his party has decided to support Fazlur Rehman in his march against the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. “PPP strongly believes that the incumbent government has to go," he said.

He also said that due to the wrong policies of the incumbent government, many people have become jobless.

The government is now hatching a conspiracy to deprive more people of employment opportunities by closing 400 departments, he added.

Talking in reference to Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry’s recent statement, the PPP chairman said, “Fawad Chaudhry’s narrative is the actual policy of Khan sahib.”

The minister was reported to have said that the government was not responsible for providing jobs to people. When approached for comment, the minister later rejected the reports by saying that he was talking about government jobs only.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal said his party supports Fazl’s demand for the prime minister's resignation. Calling for fresh election, he said sending the government home was necessary to protect the country from further destruction.
