Nawaz Sharif Taken To Hospital Due To 'Critically Low' Platelet Count

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to a hospital on Monday for a medical check-up after his personal physician reported that his platelet count had fallen due to ‘multiple pathologies’.

On Monday night, Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician, Dr Adnan Khan, stated on Twitter that Nawaz Sharif’s platelet count was critically low and urged that he be immediately hospitalised. He added that the former prime minister had ‘multiple serious life-threatening health issues’.

The physician later stated that Nawaz Sharif’s condition was normal and that his dengue test turned out to be negative. He added that his platelet count had decreased allegedly due to the medicines he took that made his blood thin.

Meanwhile, Twitter witnessed a hashtag, #Nawazneedsmaryam, calling for his family to be allowed to be with him when he is critically ill.
