Former PM Nawaz Sharif's bail application has been granted by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for 8 weeks on medical grounds. The court has further ruled that if Nawaz Sharif's health condition remains poor after 8 weeks, he may reach out to the Punjab government for extension in the bail.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, who heard the petition, had earlier sought an assurance from the government that Nawaz Sharif's health will not deteriorate if the government opposed his bail.
