IHC Grants Interim Bail To Nawaz Sharif Till Tuesday
The Islamabad High Court has granted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif interim bail on medical grounds.

In a decision given by Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, the court has asked the federal and provincial governments and the National Accountability Bureau to give a guarantee that Nawaz Sharif's health won't further deteriorate if the government decides to oppose the bail.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif had petitioned in the Islamabad High Court to suspend Nawaz Sharif’s prison sentence considering the illnesses he suffers from.

Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minaullah had earlier stated that the government should not have taken to court in this matter and Nawaz Sharif should have been sent abroad for treatment without the approval of the court.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was taken to hospital on Monday for a medical check-up after his personal physician reported that his platelet count had fallen due to multiple pathologies.

Yesterday, the Lahore High Court had granted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif post-arrest bail allowing him to seek medical treatment considering the seriousness of his illness.
