Witness In Meesha Shafi Case Seeks Relief In Court From FIA Harassment
One of the leading witnesses of the Meesha Shafi case has filed a writ petition at the Lahore High Court for relief against the continued harassment and intimidation she has been suffering at the hands of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the past few months.

Following the false defamation accusation alleged against her by Ali Zafar, the petitioner started receiving multiple telephone calls and summon notices from the FIA to appear before them. She was only informed that the complainant was Ali Zafar and no other document or complaint was made available to her.

The advocate for the petitioner, Dr Khalid Ranjha, has sought relief from court to prevent the unnecessary harassment and abuse by the FIA, which he said summons her off and on to their office. He added that this was an attempt to coerce her to withdraw her name from the list of witnesses submitted by Meesha Shafi in her proceedings against Ali Zafar.

The advocate further requested that the harassment should be treated as contempt of court and that the FIA should be directed to produce material on the basis of which the petitioner was summoned. He also prayed to the court to take action against the officers involved in the abuse of their position.

Meanwhile, as an interim relief, the court has directed the respondent not to harass the petitioner and has directed the FIA to appear before the court on 26th September.
