Kasur Child Abuse Scandal: Hamza Abbasi Joins Afridi, Nadia Jamil and Akmal Calling For Action In Punjab

After Zainab, we’ve once again come across a horrendous child sexual abuse scandal and murder of three minor boys in Kasur. This alarming pattern has created a nationwide emergency, propelling celebrities to demand more meaningful action from PTI.

Hamza Ali Abbasi highlighted a communication gap between the citizens and the government, blaming PTI for not focusing on the ‘real’ social issues. He blamed the PTI of being unresponsive to the needs of the people. Other than the government, he blames private money-making enterprises like the media tycoons for focusing more on the arrest of ‘his excellency, his majesty Khurshid Shah’.

 

Yesterday, Shahid Afridi had also urged the Imran Khan government to take action against miscreants in Kasur. “My heart cries over what’s happening in Sindh and Punjab. Don’t you have a better, more experienced person in your team in Punjab?” he had said in the tweet. “The time has come to establish a Madina like state”, he added.

Nadia Jamil, actress and child protection activist, has personally worked with the children in Kasur, and with the exclusive insight into its dysfunctional institutions, has recommended these changes to the PTI:

 

Wicketkeeper-Batsman Kamran Akmal also expressed horror at the Kasur incident, empathizing with the pain of the parents of the victims. He further pointed out the government’s inefficiency, highlighting the recent death of a 10-year-old boy due to unavailability of rabies vaccine in Sindh medical centers. Salman Butt, another Pakistani cricketer, joined in too.
