Gen Bajwa Inaugurates NUST Quetta Campus
QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday inaugurated the newly established National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) campus in the city while visiting the Southern Command Headquarters, according to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

On the occasion, General Bajwa was apprised about the progress made on projects initiated under the Khushal Balochistan Programme.

The army chief appreciated the efforts of the armed forces and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for maintaining peace in the province and facilitating development works in the province.

Work on the new NUST campus was started on 2017 and the project was completed within two years. In the first batch, around 550 students would start their BE in Civil Engineering and Computer Sciences programmes. Meanwhile, other disciplines to be taught at the university include MS in Water Resource Engineering Management, Tunneling/Mining Engineering and Computer and Allied Sciences.

Addressing students, General Bajwa urged the talented students of Balochistan to prepare themselves for future opportunities in different fields.

He further said, “Pakistan is moving towards enduring peace and stability with a positive trajectory.” The youth of the country should continue their efforts towards achieving national cohesion and individual excellence.
