Crude Oil And Gas Reserves Discovered In Chanda Oil Field Of Kohat
PESHAWAR: The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) in a joint endeavour with Government Holdings Private Limited (GHPL) and Zaver Petroleum Corporation, has discovered a huge amount of crude oil and gas reserves in district Kohat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This is the first discovery of crude oil and gas in the Chanda Oil Field of Kohat. The discovery is the result of aggressive exploration strategy adopted by the companies.

The OGDCL is the operator of the Chanda Well and has 72 percent of the shares. On the other hand, GHPL has 17.5 percent of the shares while Zaver Petroleum Corporation owns 10.5 percent of the shares.

The discovery of oil and gas after exploration of deeper prospects would certainly add to the hydrocarbon reserves base of the OGDCL and would aid in fulfilling the energy needs of the country.

Last month, crude oil and gas reserves had also been discovered in the Ghauri Block of Gujar Khan near Rawalpindi. The discovery had been made by OGDCL and Mari Petroleum Limited.
