Rape Victim’s Family Accuse Police Officer Of Passing Lewd Remarks
GUJRANWALA: A police officer has been accused of making sexually suggestive remarks while registering the case of an alleged rape, per claims made by the victim’s family on Tuesday.

According to police, a first information report (FIR) was filed on the request of the victim’s family and a suspect was arrested who allegedly sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl.

The suspect was a neighbour of the girl’s family belonging to the Ladhewala Waraich area, they added.

However, the girl’s family alleged that the station house officer (SHO) in Gujranwala had passed inappropriate remarks against the victim and also engaged in questionable gestures.

The family also said that they had launched a protest against the SHO’s rude behaviour and had appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to take immediate notice of the incident.

Meanwhile, Gujranwala Superintendent of Police (SP) Muazzam Ali said that the matter was being currently investigated and no further details could be shared on the matter for now.
