Indian government on August 5 revoked the Article 370 and its byproduct Article 35A of the Indian constitution, practically revoking Kashmir's status as a state of India and merging it into the Indian Union Territory. Three days ahead of the development, Indian government started increasing the number of troops in the valley. Mainstream media's access to the valley has been limited and the internet services have been completely shut down, virtually disconnecting Jammu & Kashmir from the rest of the world. Surprisingly, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had the audacity to tweet that Jammu & Kashmir 'is now free from their shackles. A new dawn, better tomorrow awaits!'
