Arshad Malik Video: SC Informed Forensic Audit Not Conducted Because They Don’t Have Original Copy
Attorney General Anwar Mansoor on Tuesday informed the Supreme Court that they had tried to verify from London the video shown by Maryam Nawaz at a conference but failed.

Justice Azmat Saeed why forensic audit of the video wasn’t conducted, FIA DG Bashir Memon replied that they did not have original video.

To which Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that let the experts examine the available copy. The entire country has the video except the investigation agencies, he added.

During the hear about the video involving former accountability court judge Arshad Malik, Chief Justice Asif Khosa remarked that all the honest judges were feeling ashamed because of him. Action could be taken over showing the video and audio separately at the press conference, he added.

The chief justice also asked whether investigation was being conducted into the entire matter or was it limited to the video. The attorney replied that Nasir Butt and Salim Raza had left the country on the very next day after the episode.

When asked, the attorney general said Malik was appointed as accountability court judge on March 13, 2018. He said the person who had get him appointed wasn’t revealed yet.

He said Shehbaz Sharif and other PML-N leaders had stated that they had nothing to do with the video, while Maryam too also claimed that and added that it was filmed by Nasir Butt.

According to the FIA, there is a contradiction in her stance and she also stated that she had not watched the objectionable video [the one used to blackmail him].

When asked whether forensic audit was conducted, the court was informed that it had been completed in the case of the one from Multan, which was recovered in 2003.
