Loyalties On The Line As PML-N Members Admit Meeting The Prime Minister
ISLAMABAD: Two members of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) on Sunday confirmed having met the Prime Minister. Federal cabinet ministers, on the other hand, claim that more 'defections' might take place from the opposition in the near future.

PML-N warned the members in question that they would have to give up their party membership before shifting loyalties towards the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

The development comes in as Prime Minister's close aide Naeem-ul-Haque tweeted regarding PML-N MPA's meeting the Prime Minister.

Haque claimed that Chief Minister Buzdar has brought the opposition members along to meet Imran Khan.

"The hopes of PMLN MPAs from Punjab continue to get shattered with their party as was obvious in their today’s meeting with the PM. 15 MPAs of PMLN met PM at Bani Gala for 1 1/2 hours. CM Punjab had brought them over. They expressed full confidence in PM and the CM", Haque said.

As two members confirmed their presence in the meeting, others denied of any such event. Those who visited the Prime Minister confirmed that the meeting was in the purview of development projects pertaining to their constituencies.

Dawn quotes Governor Punjab, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, as saying that no member parliament shall tender resignation before meeting the Prime Minister.

“The difference of opinion is the beauty of political parties and if PML-N MPAs are not satisfied with party policies and think policies of Imran Khan can pull the country out of crises and put it on the road to progress, then there is no harm if they call on the premier.”

Federal ministers including Sheikh Rasheed, Minister for Railway, and Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Science and Technology, have already hinted towards 'dissidents' in PML-N.
