SABAQ Foundation, an education startup from Pakistan has been shortlisted for the empowering people Award 2019 by the Siemens Foundation.
According to Dawn, the startup is among the 11 finalists for the award and will be competing for the top three spots in Cairo next month. The award itself focuses on low-cost technologies providing vital services for developing regions.
In a statement published by Dawn, SABAQ`s co-founder and CEO Hassan Bin Rizwan said,
“SABAQ is extremely honored to represent Pakistan on this prestigious international platform. Previously this year, we were selected as the Top 6 Global EdTech startup at the Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai. We also took home the Transformers Roadshow Prize by the Islamic Development Bank in May. Now, being nominated for the Siemens Foundation global award greatly motivates us to continue our mission of revamping Pakistan’s education system and helping all children in Pakistan get access to quality education through our technology".
"Our journey so far has been only been possible through hard work and an unwavering dedication to build a better future for our children. We now need the Pakistani community to come forward and vote for us in our mission of educating every Pakistani child,” Rizwan added.
The foundation founded back in 2012 aims to impart education across the country in both Urdu and English language catering to the masses.
Sabaq Foundation has prepared and uploaded more than 11,000 video lectures on the website sabaq.pk for all educational boards of Pakistan (Sindh, Punjab, KPK, Baluchistan, and Federal) till date as per the foundation`s website.
