New SoP Issued as Dengue Scare Re-emerges
In light of reemergence of dengue scare, Rawalpindi city administration has issued new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to prevent the virus spreading further, Express Tribune reported.

Under the new SOP, patients suspected of having the virus will receive daily checkups from 100 basic health units, the Tehsil Headquarter Hospital, District Headquarter Hospital and government hospital dispensaries. The results of the checkups will be then handed over to the city admiration, and if any hospital or Basic Health Unit head fails to do so, action will be taken against him/her.

Furthermore, if a patient tests positive for the dengue virus, a ‘thorough search will be conducted of their home and surroundings, where dengue spray will be used at every corner to terminate the virus,” the report read.

The number of dengue cases in Punjab have risen to 22 with seven each in reported in Lahore and Faisalabad.
