MNA Mohsin Dawar, who was earlier, booked on multiple accounts of murder, attempted murder, terrorism and interference in official affairs after the May 26 Kharqamar check post incident has been sent to Peshawar Central Jail on judicial remand.

Although Dawar fled the scene back in Kharqamar, he later surrendered himself to the district administration. Dawar hails from a Central Pashtun Movement known as the PTM (Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement).

On May 30, a special court sent him on an eight-day physical remand in the custody of CTD officials. While the CTD presented Dawar in front of the on-duty magistrate in Bannu on Friday contending for an increase in his physical remand, the Bannu anti-terrorism court did not entertain CTD`s request thus sent him on judicial remand. The court also directed authorities to present the lawmaker again on June 19.

In one of his tweets, Farhatullah Babar from the Pakistan People`s Party tweeted a letter from Bilawal Bhutto to the Speaker National Assembly which demanded production orders for the PTM lawmakers under arrest.

Since Dawar`s arrest, various media and political activists took to Twitter in protesting law maker`s arrest.
