Maryam Says You Cannot Escape from Giving Answers by Arresting Opposition Leaders

PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz on Monday said “the fake prime minister”, who entered the power corridors through backdoor, would have been held accountable for himself and his sister, if the accountability was impartial and everyone equal before the law.

She said the fake prime minister cannot escape from giving the answer by arresting the opposition leaders one by one.

Maryam expressed these views after the arrest of former president Asif Ali Zardari; however, she did not mention him directly in her tweets.

In a series of tweets, she said the fake prime minister used to say that the law was different for the poor and the rich; however, the fact was that there was one set of law for everyone in Pakistan, whether the rich or the poor and another for the fake prime minister, his family and the rich friends who were responsible for his expenses. “Is there any law for them?” Maryam further remarked.

The fake prime minister must come out and check how the people are cursing him, if he thinks that the arrests of political rivals are an answer to stealing votes, causing alarming inflation, destroying economy, increasing the medicines prices and the utility bills as well as making the lives of the people miserable, said Maryam, “This drama will not last now,” she added.

The PML-N vice-president said when the entire national is made a target of fake accountability then the nation look towards the judges holding the flag of justice and the judiciary that has taken oath to provide justice, Maryam said. It is the sole difference between the law of jungle and a civilised state, she added.

On the other hand, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif asked the speaker to issue production orders for Zardari.

Addressing the House, he said Zardari had fully cooperated with the NAB during investigation and there was no reason for his arrest.
