Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed Appointed As The New ISI Chief
In a major development, Lt-Gen Faiz Hameed was appointed as the ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence] director general on Sunday, media reported.

Lt-Gen Faiz has replaced Lt-Gen Asim Munir who has been appointed as corps commander Gujranwala.

Lt-Gen Faiz became part of the news after he brokered a deal between the then PML-N government and the Khadim Hussain Rizvi-led Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) after the infamous Faizabad sit-in in Islamabad in November 2017.

Later, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif accused him of manoeuvring the elections in 2018 and forcing the PML-N members of changing loyalties.

On the other hand, Lt-Gen Amir Abbasi will now serve as Quarter Master General, Lt-Gen Moazzam Ejaz as Engineer-in-Chief and Lt-Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
