Kyle Kashuv's admission offer was rescinded by Harvard after the university learned of Kushuv's racist writings. Kashuv is a school shooting survivor at Parkland, Fla and a prominent gun rights activist.

Kashuv tried to explain the whole incident quoting events from the past. He also tweeted an apology letter back from when he was 16.

According to Kashuv, once the apology was out, speculative articles targeted him while his peers and political opponents contacted Harvard urging them to rescind his offer.

The University investigated the incident and asked Kashuv for a 'full accounting" of the incident in question. The letter stated that,
" Harvard reserves the right to withdraw an offer of admission under various conditions, including 'if you engage or have engaged in behavior that brings into question your honesty, maturity, or moral character.'"
Kashuv, on the other hand, replied with full apology and how he has matured over the years.
"I also feel I am no longer the same person, especially in the aftermath of Parkland shooting and all that has transpired since", Kashuv's letter stated.
He also tweeted that he reached out to the office of Diversity but was not satisfied by their response in this regard. Kahsuv's offer was rescinded on June 3, 2019, and has sparked yet another debate in the United States regarding Harvard's response.
Kashuv's twitter thread ended with his search for all possible options as he was aggrieved with what Harvard did. The question is whether Harvard made an appropriate choice or not.

It was almost two years ago when a similar incident took place, although it did not gain much political traction. Ten prospective students of the Harvard class of 2021 were seen trading sexually explicit memes and messages in multiple Facebook groups.
As published by The Crimson, students sent each other memes and other images mocking sexual assault, the Holocaust, and the deaths of children.
The obscene material in question began when a group of students formed a Facebook group for memes and etc. Soon the groups increased in number where students were asked to post memes or content in the group's interest. While there were several memes groups, all of the students were also on the official Harvard Class of 2021 Facebook Group.
After discovering the contents of the groups and chats in question, Harvard rescinded the offer of at least ten incoming freshmen. As per reports, Harvard's decision to rescind an offer is final.
According to The Crimson, Harvard's admission rate was 5.2% for the class of 2021.
