Fawad Chaudhry`s Lunar Calendar Challenged In Peshawar High Court
Peshawar: In light of the confusion prior to the official announcement of Eid-ul-Fitr, Fawad Chaudhry is yet again in trouble for his newly launched Lunar Calendar. The calendar was designed to predict all forthcoming Islamic dates through modern lunar technology. In his latest media interaction, Chaudhry had announced dates for Eid-ul-Adha as well.

In one of his earlier tweets, Chauhdry explained the way to use the newly launched application, "The Ruet" for moon sighting purposes.

According to Express Tribune, a petition filed in Peshawar High Court argues that the calendar in question is contrary to the Islamic teachings.

“The minister first forced the people to celebrate Eidul Fitr and has now announced that Eidul Azha will be celebrated on August 12,” the petition stated, published in Express Tribune.

The petitioner was of the view that the Chaudhry`s lunar calendar shall not be introduced while the former should be removed from the ministry of science and technology.

The Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, Dr. Qibla Ayaz has already told the media that a final decision on the calendar cannot be taken without consultation with Islamic scholars.
