A LUMS graduate, Shanza Faiq tops CSS Exam 2018

As the Central Superior Services (CSS) results came in a few days ago, it was a day for many talented Pakistanis to celebrate. This particular exam is the most difficult competitive exam of Pakistan where thousands of sharp-minded individuals appear to enter the bureaucratic realm.

A graduate from one of the prestigious Pakistani university, LUMS that stands for Lahore University of Management Sciences, Shanza Faiq topped the CSS exam for 2018.

After her undergraduate degree, she went on to the University of Warwick to pursue her higher education. Shanza had already secured a full-tuition scholarship at Warwick. She currently works as a graduate research assistant at Warwick and has previously worked with several government institutions including Foreign Services of Pakistan, Attorney General`s office, etc. She has been associated with Pakistan Youth Parliament and has even penned articles for Dawn.

In her recent interview to Samaa TV, she explained how her journey was quite different from a lot of other CSS aspirants. She only had two and a half to three months to prepare for the exam unlike other. Adding onto the exam specifics Faiq added that, there are certain important factors including handwriting, outlines, headings and etc.

Faiq has chosen the Foreign Services Group for her service as her father has previously served in the foreign office. She also regards Maliha Lodhi, Pakistan`s Permanent Ambassador to the UN as her role model.

There are many talented and skillful Pakistanis like Shanza Faiq who aspire to lead the country towards the right path.
