9-Member Jirga Formed To Investigate Khar Qamar Incident
Adviser to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister on Merged Districts Ajmal Wazir has formed a nine-member Jirga to investigate the May 26 incident in which security forces clashed with Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) members at a check post in North Waziristan.

The incident took place at the Khar Qamar checkpost, in which three people were killed and 15 others injured as a checkpost in Boyya was attacked during a PTM protest.

Following the incident, PTM leaders and MNAs Ali Wazir and Mohsin Dawar were arrested. The Pakistan Army claimed that the PTM members had attacked a check post, whereas the party members said that the forces opened fire during a peaceful protest.

Ajmal Wazir held a meeting with North Waziristan elders on Sunday in Miram Shah after which he announced the decision to form the Jirga to look into the matter.

The nine-member Jirga will be made up of tribal elders including Malak Nasrullah Khan, Malak Khan Zeb Khan, Malak Shah Nawaz Khan Madakhel, Malak Khan Marjan Dardoni, Malak Habibullah Darpakhel, Malak Jan Faraz Khan Dardoni, Malak Mir Qadar Khan Darpakhel, Malak Ghulam Khan Madarkhel and Malak Peer Aqal Zaman Tapi Dawar.
