Two men on Friday allegedly raped a 13-year-old Hindu girl in Tando Mohammad Khan, Dawn News reports.
The girl’s family has alleged that the two men, who have since been arrested, first forced the girl to drink alcohol and afterwards raped her. The girl’s father while lodging a FIR, informed the police that the 13-year-old left their home to buy groceries but when she didn’t return he got alarmed and along with his son went to look for her. The two found the young girl in distress near the Sugar Mills ground.
The two then took her to the Civil Hospital Tando Mohammad Khan, where after regaining consciousness the girl told her father that while shopping the two suspects called her towards them. After she went to them, the men two forced her to drink alcohol and raped her, she added.
The girl, who belongs to a nomad family has since been referred to the Civil hospital Hyderabad, where the doctors have confirmed that "sexual intercourse has taken place".
Tando Mohammad Khan SSP Zulfiqar Talpur informed Dawn News ‘”that DNA samples of the girl and the two suspects have been taken for further investigation”. Meanwhile on Saturday, a local court ordered that the two suspects remain in police remand for four days.
Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Information Murtaza Wahab said has also taken notice of the incident and said that the provincial government shall ensure that the culprit be brought to justice.
