Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Professors ‘Fake’: Karachi University
Karachi University administration has denied sexual harassment allegations against 2 professors calling the complaints ‘fake’. They said that the university administration has received no ‘official’ complaint from the students regarding the matter.

On Thursday, 2 professors of the Mass Communications department were accused of sexually harassing six female students. The complainants said that the professors send inappropriate messages on WhatsApp.

“They try their best to play mind games with female students to gain favors that have sexual overtones, all with the ever-lurking threat of failing them or putting them short of the attendance list,” the complainants said.

Though university administration denies receiving an ‘official’ complaint, a staff member said that a complaint was indeed received by the university but it bore ‘fake’ signatures.

They said that the complaint was not filed by any female students, but a male student who is already facing disciplinary action. He said that no mobile screenshots were attached with the complaint and that the university was not bound to take action over a ‘fake’ complaint.

The spokesperson added that a meeting had been summoned on Friday to take action against the student who filed the "fake" complaint.

KU student Tihmas Ali Khan made details of the case public.

"I recorded a video detailing the harassment. I did not mean to make it public. I gave the video to someone to edit, but it was somehow leaked. And then I was served a show cause notice by the university," he told Geo TV’s morning show Geo Pakistan.

One of the female victims told Geo Pakistan via a telephone call that the professor in question sent her inappropriate texts on WhatsApp.
