Several Injured In Clash Between Security Forces And PTM Workers
Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) workers clashed with security forces in North Waziristan leaving several injured, according to reports.

The security forces opened fire at a peaceful PTM rally that included National Assembly members Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, the party’s sources state, adding that both MNAs managed to leave the scene without incurring any injuries.

According to unverified reports, around 40 party workers were injured in the clash, while Ali Wazir and Dr Gul Alam as well as other senior PTM representatives have been arrested.

The injured were shifted to hospitals in Meran Shah and Bannu, however local sources state that the patients are being prevented from receiving first aid and treatment.

The rally on route to join the ongoing protest staged by the locals, was proceeding in a peaceful manner when suddenly it was attacked by the security forces, PTM sources stated.

However, according to sources within the security forces, 'the PTM workers attacked a check post forcing the forces to arrest them in retaliation'.

Dawar was stopped for a routine search when his guards opened fire, the sources said, adding that 'the reports of Ali Wazir’s arrest are incorrect and he and Mohsin Dawar are still in the area inciting the locals'.

The locals have not verified these claims by the security forces.
