A Rabita Committee has been formed to address the current and future issues related to the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement, said Senator Barrister Saif on Wednesday.
In a series of tweets, Saif said the committee comprised five members from the Senate Committee on National Cohesion and three from the PTM.
The members from the Senate panel are: Barrister Saif, Sitara Ayaz, Dilawar Khan, Naseebullah Baezai and Sajid Turi.
On the other hand, the PTM is represented by Liaqat Khan, Kashif Azam Chisti and Abdul Saleem Yousufzai.
The development came as PTM chief Manzoor Pashteen held a meeting with the members of Senate Committee on National Cohesion.
DAWN reported that Saif told media after the meeting that they had received "positive indications" from the PTM delegation.
He said that the PTM had demanded medical facilities for those injured in the Waziristan incident, including MNA Ali Wazir.
Earlier in the day, MNA Mohsin Dawar was into custody by law enforcement personnel from Miranshah in North Waziristan.
According to informed sources, Dawar surrendered himself to the law and was subsequently produced before an anti-terrorism court in Bannu for physical remand.
The family sources said According to family members, a jirga was convened on the matter and Dawar was advised to surrender and defend himself in a court of law.
Dawar, who had received minor injuries during the Kharqamar incident, had fled the scene, while Ali Wazir was arrested and subsequently remanded into Counter-Terrorism Department custody.
The security forces opened fire at a peaceful PTM rally that included National Assembly members Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir, the party’s sources state, adding that both MNAs managed to leave the scene without incurring any injuries.
However, the security forces stated that the PTM workers attacked a check post forcing the forces to arrest them in retaliation.
On Wednesday, an investigation officer of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Bannu requested the court for 30-day police custody of the lawmaker. However, special ATC judge Babar Ali Khan after perusing the record remanded Dawar in police custody for eight days.
Police have been directed to re-produce the MNA before the court on June 7.
Moments before his arrest, Dawar in a video message recorded at a local gathering said he wanted a thorough probe into the Kharqamar incident and vowed to defend his innocence in the court, reported DAWN.
The lawmaker said the people had saved him from arrest during the clash but that "attempts [were] underway" to arrest him after the incident as well.
He noted that a curfew had been imposed in Waziristan and his native village and the ones located near it had been surrounded by security forces.
"I cannot put the people through more trouble for myself," Dawar said, announcing that he would surrender to police.
