Body of a 10-year-old girl, who is said to be allegedly raped before being murdered, was found from Islamabad's Shahzad Town area.
According to the police, the minor identified as Farishta was sexually assaulted and later murdered. Her body was disposed of in a nearby forest. The girl's family belong to Mohmand Agency and the minor had gone missing on May 15.
The body had been moved to Poly Clinic for post mortem, however, no post-mortem has been done till now. They also claimed that the authorities took four days to file a First Information Report (FIR).
Journalist Aliya Shah said that apart from police not filing the FIR on time, the hospital also refused to carry out a post-mortem. "Police refused to register FIR. Hospital refused to carry out post mortem. Any specific reason for this criminal act of refusal? I can't bear to see this horrific scene and the dead body of this angel now think about her family."

Journalist Bilal Farooqi said: "Humanity put to shame again. 10-year-old Farishta abducted from Chak Shahzad Islamabad, raped and killed. Police didn't file an FIR for 5 days and told parents that child eloped with someone."
Social media users have also launched a hashtag #JusticeForFarishta demanding authorities to take immediate action against those involved.
Last year, seven-year-old Zainab was kidnapped from near her aunt’s house in Kasur on January 4 and was found dead in a garbage heap five days later.
