Man In KP Arrested For Threatening Woman With Leaking Pictures On Social Media
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday arrested a man in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for blackmailing a woman threatening to leak her pictures on social media if she does not come and meet him.

An official of the FIA told the Express Tribune that the agency received a complaint and verified it from various angles. The woman said that the man wanted to meet her but upon refusal, he threatened that he would share her pictures on social media if she refuses to comply.

The officer, upon the guarantee of anonymity, said that the police have arrested the man. He also stated that earlier people would not come forward and would succumb to threatening messages they would receive, which would create problems for women in particular.

The FIA source said that it was due to the growing confidence in the FIA and the law-enforcement agencies that people were now starting to lodge more complains and reach out.

In February, the cyber crime wing had arrested and registered a case against a man for defaming a woman by uploading her photos on social media.

According to a complaint filed with FIA sub-inspector Naheed Bilal, Irfan Ali Shah defamed the victim through messages and had sent pictures to relatives on Facebook.
