ZapBuddy: Pakistan's WhatsApp Equivalent That's Potentially Better
Islamabad-based tech company's messaging app equivalent of WhatsApp is now available on Android. The app called ZapBuddy aims to provide features that its well-known rivals do not.

The developers have made sure they provide features far more user-friendly than the likes of WhatsApp, Facebook, Line, WeChat and multiple others to attract the audience.

One of the main features of the app is the Augmented Reality (AR) feature. AR allows users to locate an acquaintance’s position via phone’s camera and a special radar. It also allows users to find nearby places of interest, for example, restaurants, parks, shopping malls and what not.

The best thing about the app developers is that they prioritize user-privacy and would not indulge in data-selling. The only weakness Zapbuddy had was absence of Audio/Video calling service and an Android version.

But the team has now finally added both.

Feature wise, it has end-to-end encryption, same as WhatsApp, and it also lets you lock notifications so that you can only see them once you unlock the phone. However, what sets it apart is the availability of an in-built passcode without which, a person can not use the app.

In other words, your messages can only be read by you, unless you allow someone access.

It also beats WhatsApp when it comes to group chats. In WhatsApp, a user has no say in who adds them to a certain group. The only liberty users have is to leave the group.

With Zapbuddy, users will have the option to accept or decline requests to be part of different groups. Also Zapbuddy allows users to mute a group for as long as desired.

But that's not the end. There's a lot of room for improvement and the Zapbuddies are working to create the most user friendly app. EVER.
