    PTI Government Announces Major Reshuffling In Cabinet

    The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on Thursday issued a notification announcing major reshuffling in the federal cabinet.

    Fawad Chaudhry has been announced as the new minister of Science and Technology, Ghulam Sarwar Khan has been handed the portfolio of Aviation, Ijaz Ahmed Shah is to be the new Interior minister, Shehryar Afridi has been handed the portfolio of State and Frontier Regions.

    Dr Zafar Ullah Mirza has been given the portfolio of National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan is to the new Information Minister and Nadeem Babar the new Petroleum minister.

    Earlier, this morning the news that Finance Minister Asad Umar has left his post landed like a minor earthquake, foreshadowing the cabinet reshuffle. Umar reportedly refused to take the portfolio of the energy ministry. His former post has been filled by Abdul Hafeez Pasha.
