A man named ‘Adnan’ allegedly beat his wife and forced acid down her throat for failing to bring as much dowry as he had expected, his mother-in-law stated on Wednesday.
According to details, the incident occurred in the area of Phikekey in Narowal district.
The woman, Mariyam, was reportedly tortured by her husband and in-laws for not bringing enough dowry as per their requirement.
However, the woman is in critical condition and has been shifted to a nearby local hospital for treatment.
On the other hand, the Police officials have arrested three people who are involved in the incident, including the husband and his father. They also stated that the couple got married a year ago.
