Bilawal Warns Govt To Help The Needy Or Get Ready For 'Reaction'
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government that the latter should provide relief to those in need or get ready 'for the reaction of the underprivileged quarters'.

Addressing a press conference at Zardari House in Islamabad, Bilawal took several jabs at the ruling PTI. He said that no government in the history of Pakistan had taken as many loans as the PTI has in its first few months.

"They celebrate upon securing loans. What is there to celebrate when the poor and the common man will have to bear the burden of paying off these loans?" Bilawal asked.

He said that if the economic situation remains the same, then there the poor will react. The PPP chief said that if the PTI wanted to 'create fiscal space and burden someone', then it should burden rich like Jahangir Tareen. "For the rich, you have an amnesty scheme but for the poor you have inflation," he added.

Bilawal also asked about PTI's Ramzan policy and demanded that the poor be provided immediate relief wherever possible. Bilawal advised the government to take inspiration from the PPP's management of the economy during turbulent times.

The PPP chief also criticized newly-appointed Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance Abdul Hafeez Shaikh for not addressing the parliament to brief the lawmakers about the current economic situation. "He has not even come in front of cameras once since being appointed, let alone addressing the parliament," Bilawal said.
