The commission to probe the 2014 Army Public School attack has not completed a final report despite six months of investigation and interviewing several key witnesses, Geo news reports.
In 2014 the country was rocked when terrorists attacked and killed over 140 children and teachers at the Army Public School in Peshawar. Since the cowardly attack, the bereaved families have been asking for a detailed investigation to find out if there were any security shortcomings and if so to hold the officials responsible.
Their pleas were answered when Supreme Court in October last year, ordered that a judicial commission be formed to look into the incident. The SC also gave a deadline of two months for the commission to complete and present its final report.
According to officials working with the one-man commission of the Peshawar High Court judge, Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, the delay is a result of officers who are unavailable for interviews.
As per reports, the commission since its formation has interviewed 107 witnesses, including the families of those killed in APS attack. Others interrogated include former corps commander Peshawar, former home secretary and former inspector general.
