Multan’s Violence Against Women Centre (VAWC) is in trouble. Staff complains that they have not been paid since July 2018 because the PTI govt did not allocate funds to the centre. Despite their troubles, the staff has helped 9,000 women over the past 9 months. But if immediate action is not taken, VAWC may not even be able to survive.
