Staying Quiet On PTI’s Wrongdoings Because Of Pak-India Tensions: Zardari
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said that the party is staying silent on the ruling party’s failures and unjust behavior owing to the Pakistan-India tensions and that when the time is right, will call out PTI for its ‘wrongdoings’.
“The PTI government is violating rights of the provinces and is not giving Sindh and Balochistan its due share. I am receiving information from Punjab as well that not even a bowl is being given. We are only staying silent because the country is going through an external war-like situation,” Zardari said while speaking to media at Bilawal House in Karachi.
He said that in the current scenario, the party will refrain from doing politics although it can ‘play pretty well’ if it does so and can put PTI in a lot of trouble. Zardari announced that he will visit South Punjab in the near future and asked the leaders in the province to build better contacts with the public.
Tensions between Pakistan and India are on the rise after the Pulwama Attack. On Tuesday last week, Indian Air Force (IAF) intruded into Pakistani airspace and dropped payload near Balakot. Later on Wednesday, two jets entered into Pakistani airspace again but were shot down by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Indian Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was arrested and was released by Pakistan 2 days later on Friday as peace gesture. PM Imran Khan announced the decision reiterating Pakistan’s peace stance.
