Pakistani Flag To Fly At Half Mast For New Zealand Attack Victims
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday announced that the Pakistani flag will fly at high mast in the wake of the New Zealand mosques attack in which over 50 people were killed, including 9 Pakistanis.

Addressing a press conference, Qureshi also announced that Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered to present Naeem Rashid, Pakistani man who tried to stop the attacker, with national award.

He also said that the flag will fly at half mast.

9 Pakistanis Killed In NZ Terror Attacks, Confirms FO


Qureshi confirmed that 9 Pakistanis were killed in the attack on two mosques of Christchurch in New Zealand. He said another person was in a critical condition in the hospital. “He is currently in a critical condition. He is being treated but his condition is not out of danger.”

He said that he has talked to his New Zealand counterpart too who has guaranteed full-cooperation. “The New Zealand foreign minister said New Zealand is a peace loving country.” The minister also said that the high commissioner in New Zealand is in contact with the victim families.

He announced that an emergency Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting has been called in the wake of the attack and will be held on March 22 in Istanbul.

On Friday, a man identified as Australian born Brenton Tarrant opened fire at worshippers at two mosques in Christchurch leavings more than 50 dead and dozens injured. He live streamed his attack on social media.
