‘No One Can Provide Guarantee Of Life’: Yasmin Rashid On Nawaz Sharif's Health
Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid has said that no one could provide a guarantee of life, while referring to incarcerated former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s deteriorating health.

While talking to a TV channel, the minister said that she cannot even provide guarantee of her own life when she was asked about senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah’s remarks wherein he had said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would be responsible had any harm come to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and that would be considered as “murder”.

The minister further emphasised that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has provided Nawaz Sharif with “best medical treatment available but he wants to go abroad”.

“We can’t take the decision of sending him abroad, it’s up to the courts,” she said.

The provincial health minister also criticised the PPP for "doing politics over someone's life".

The government has come under criticism after the former PM accused that the government has barred doctors from treating him.

Nawaz Sharif had said that in all three hospitals, including Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology, doctors told the former premier that they have been ordered to only examine him and not provide treatments.

Nawaz had said that the doctors were "helpless" because the government had asked them only to examine Nawaz’s condition and not provide medical help. PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif had said that the PTI government’s ill-treatment of Nawaz was based on political revenge.

“Nawaz has been sick since January but the government has paid no heed,” Shehbaz Sharif had said. The former CM had said that a medical practitioner from PIC examined Nawaz the earlier this week and raised concerns over the former PM’s health. The doctor has advised Nawaz to be taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

Shehbaz had said that despite Nawaz’s health and his refusal to be taken to the hospital, the Sharif family had faith in Allah Almighty. He had also thanked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other opposition leaders for paying visit.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the Punjab government to provide Nawaz Sharif with the best medical facilities at offer. Khan had directed that Nawaz be taken to the hospital of his choice.
