No Lifetime Perks And Privileges For Punjab CM
After Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed disappointment over Punjab Assembly members raising their own salaries, the provincial assembly speaker reviewed the bill and amended the provision of lifetime perks and privileges for Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

The bill is yet to be approved by the Punjab governor.

On Wednesday, the Punjab Assembly passed the bill to increase perks and privileges of MPAs and other dignitaries from the bills. The bill was passed in 5 minutes with a complete consensus.

As per the bill, the monthly salary of members, including perks and allowances, was raised from Rs83,000 to Rs210,000. MPAs basic salaries were increased from Rs18,000 to Rs80,000 while daily allowance was increased from Rs1,000 to Rs4,000.

The Punjab chief minister will now be receiving a monthly package of over Rs350,000. Also, CM Usman Buzdar will also get a house in Lahore if he does not have one of his own. Moreover, he will also be given a 2500cc car, 10 security guards and several servants.

As per the amendment made by the provincial assembly speaker, Buzdar will no longer receive the lifetime perks and privileges of the chief minister, but only "suitable and adequate security".
