Nawaz Wants To Go To London For Treatment: Fawad Chaudhry
Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that the Sharif family has insisted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to allow them to take ailing Nawaz Sharif for treatment in London.
Addressing the media in Lahore, Fawad said that the PTI government called a meeting over Nawaz’s condition where they were told that the ex-PM’s health has deteriorated and he was having breathing issues. He said the Punjab government has been ordered to provide the best medical facilities to Nawaz.
Fawad said Nawaz was taken to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology on January 22 and also couple of times later but he refused medical attention. The minister said that Nawaz Sharif wants to go to London for treatment and that his family has requested the government to allow treatment in the United Kingdom.
“The PTI govt has offered the best medical facilities to Nawaz, but he does not want to be treated in Pakistan,” Fawad said. He also criticized Nawaz and brother Shehbaz Sharif for having ‘no trust’ in hospitals established by themselves.
“When Imran Khan fell off the stage, he refused to go abroad and said that he will be looked after here in Pakistan. But Nawaz and Shehbaz don’t even trust what they have made themselves,” he said.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said earlier this week that to avoid accountability, PML-N on the other hand was doing politics on Nawaz Sharif’s health. “We have offered the best facilities to Nawaz Sharif but he would not accept.” He also said that PTI aims to take the country forward via its sustainable policies.
On Thursday, during a meeting with family members at Kot Lakhpat Jail, ex-PM Nawaz Sharif reiterated that he would not go to any hospital and has left his case to Allah. He also accused PTI of not allowing him treatment at the hospital of his own choice.
