Man Chops Off Wife’s Hair Because She Was ‘Not Covering Head’
A man in Peshawar cut off his wife’s hair because she was ‘not covering her head’ during a wedding ceremony.

The wife lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against the husband in which she mentioned that she went to her husband’s cousin’s wedding ceremony where, at a moment, her Dupatta (shawl-like scarf) slipped off her head.

Infuriated at this, her husband chopped her hair off after smashing her with punches and kicks when the two returned home. The husband, member of Malakand Levies force, then took a scissor and chopped her hair.

The wife said there was no one except herself, her husband and their minor daughter in the room when the incident took place.

She said she was filing complaint of the incident with a delay because her husband had threatened to kill her if she spoke about it with anyone. Police said that they are making efforts to arrest him.

On March 27, a woman in Lahore has accused her husband and his friends of torturing her and shaving her head for refusing to dance in front of them.

According to reports, the incident took place in Lahore’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area where a husband allegedly beat up his wife because she refused to dance in front of his friends.

Asma Aziz told media that her husband used to force her to dance and ‘entertain’ his friends.

Upon refusal to dance this time around, the husband identified as Mian Faisal, along with one of his friends beat Asma with a pipe and cut her hair. The woman said she married her ‘tormentor’ of her free will four years ago after he ‘lured her into trap’.
