KP Govt’s Tall Claims About Education Reforms Fall Flat
Nearly 21,000 students out of 41,000 school children enrolled till 2017 under a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were revealed to be fake students.

According to the Elementary and Secondary Education Foundation (ESEF), 70 schools out of 90 established in just one district were also revealed to be ghost schools.

The KP government has funded millions of rupees to these fake students and fake schools under Iqra Farogh-e-Taleem Voucher Scheme (IFTVS).

The KP government never launched an audit of the scheme and failed to take action against the responsible people when the ESEF findings were revealed.

The KP government is adamant that it had brought a “revolutionary” change in education system but these findings suggest otherwise.

According to a report, the KP government has also suspended the ESEF official who brought these findings to the fore and sought corruption cases against the responsible officials.

The government has also reportedly decided to revamp the ESEF to get better results.
