Indian Media Is BJP’s Propaganda Machine: Nandita Das
Indian actress and director Nandita Das has said that Indian media is the propaganda machine of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. In a Tweet, Das said that coverage of the Pulwama Attack and its aftermath proves that Indian media is the propaganda machine of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his BJP.

Nandita, however, took her tweet down later.

Last week, Indian jets intruded into Pakistan’s territory and dropped payload during a hasty escape when chased by the Pakistan Air Force. Though only a few trees were damaged and a person was injured, Indian media claimed that their forces killed ‘350 terrorists’ and destroyed ‘terrorist hideouts’ in Balakot.

Their claim has been dismissed and contradicted by foreign news agencies and media channels. United States (US)-based publication, Foreign Policy, said that “if India and Pakistan ever resolve their conflict, it won’t be thanks to the Indian media”.

FP also said that Arnab Goswami, a famously aggressive anchor, said that “we want revenge, not condemnation. It is time for blood, the enemy’s blood”. These anchors and journalists, who had no experience of war, were most enthusiastic about war.

The Washington Post says many reports run by the Indian media were 'contradictory, biased, incendiary and uncorroborated'.

'Humiliated military. Extremist leaders. Pliant, leashed media. Persecuted minorities. Emotionally unstable society.'
