Govt Has Barred Doctors From Treating Me: Nawaz Sharif

Nawaz Sharif Accuses PTI Of Mistreatment

Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accused the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government of barring doctors from treating him.

According to Express News, Nawaz Sharif told brother Shehbaz Sharif that in all three hospitals e.g. Jinnah Hospital, Services Hospital and Punjab Institute of Cardiology, doctors told the former premier that they have been ordered to only examine him and not provide treatments.

Nawaz said that the doctors were ‘helpless’ because the government had asked them only to examine Nawaz’s condition and not provide medical help. Shehbaz Sharif said that the PTI government’s ill treatment of Nawaz was based on political revenge.

“Nawaz has been sick since January but the government has paid no heed,” he said. The former CM said that a medical practitioner from PIC examined Nawaz the earlier this week and raised concerns over the former PM’s health. The doctor has advised Nawaz to be taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

Shehbaz said that despite Nawaz’s health and his refusal to be taken to the hospital, the Sharif family had faith in Allah Almighty. He also thanked Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other opposition leaders for paying visit.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the Punjab government to provide Nawaz Sharif with the best medical facilities at offer. Khan directed that Nawaz be taken to the hospital of his choice.

However, Nawaz had thus far refused saying that he ‘does not want to go to any hospital’.
